Purolator Canada Arbitration Decision Discussion

On January 23, 2024, special guest Suzanne Anton, KC joined BCPS Employees for Freedom members, together with members of United Healthcare Workers of BC and BC Paramedics United, for a discussion on the Purolator Canada arbitration decision refuting Dr. Bonnie Henry’s rationale for ongoing COVID-19 workplace vaccine mandates, the Federal Court of Canada decision (PDF) that found the federal government had illegally invoked the Emergencies Act to crush the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa in 2022, and the corruption and politicization of B.C. labour unions by the BC NDP government.

On June 26, 2023, Suzanne Anton, KC, former Attorney General of British Columbia, joined BCPS Employees for Freedom members for a wide-ranging conversation on COVID-19 mandates. Ms. Anton covered a number of topics, including her take on government’s response to COVID-19, restrictive public health measures, lockdowns, vaccine passports and mandates, mass terminations of B.C. healthcare workers and public servants, and the lack of strong evidence and legal justification for these actions.

BCPS Employees for Freedom Society (BCPSEF) is pleased to announce former British Columbia Attorney General and Minister of Justice, MLA for Vancouver-Fraserview, Vancouver City Councillor and Park Board Commissioner, Suzanne Anton, KC, will be our guest of honour at our next BCPSEF members’ meeting on Monday, June 26, 2023.

Having had an accomplished career in politics and public service, Suzanne has come forward as a courageous advocate for evidence-based B.C. public health policy, and on behalf of healthcare workers and public servants terminated due to government medical mandates. Writing recently about B.C.’s healthcare worker mandate in The Orca, Suzanne has observed that the “ongoing COVID measures have the potential for significant legal and financial liability to the government.”

About the Meeting

Our meeting with Ms. Anton will be open to BCPSEF members only.

BCPSEF Society membership is open to any B.C. public servant, current or former, who has worked for a municipal, provincial, or federal government organization in B.C., or for a publicly funded non-governmental organization in the province.

B.C. residents who are not public servants are also eligible to become non-voting members of BCPSEF.

Our members’ meeting will take place via Zoom at 7pm PDT on Monday, June 26, 2023. BCPSEF members will receive an invitation and login details prior to the meeting.

More About Suzanne

Suzanne Anton, KC is a former B.C. Attorney General, Minister of Justice and Minister Responsible for Public Safety. Previously Anton served as a Vancouver City Councillor and as an elected Park Board commissioner.

Suzanne is a lawyer, mathematics teacher, community activist and leader in Vancouver and British Columbia’s political landscape. She is currently a board member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Canada West Foundation, United for Literacy, and Business for the Arts. She has previously served on many community and sport related boards.

Suzanne and her husband Olin stay active with family, golf, tennis and cycling.
