Class Action: We Have a Date!

We are happy to report that certification hearing dates for the class action BCPSEF is supporting have been set for April 2025!  This class action was filed on behalf of all unionized B.C. government employees harmed by the government’s COVID-19 vaccination mandates.

Lawyer, Umar Sheikh has advised the hearing is scheduled to start Monday, April 28, 2025 and run for five consecutive days. Additional days will be booked if needed. The hearing will be held in Victoria, and members are encouraged to attend. BCPSEF will provide more information about the hearing closer to the date.

The hearing is just one step in a long process. After the hearing, we must wait for a certification decision. If the class action is certified, the action will proceed to discovery and eventually trial.

The most important step in this legal battle is to ensure the class is certified. For that, the plaintiff must show the court he has the financial ability to fund the case. This is why BCPSEF is supporting this action and asking people to help raise funds for the plaintiff. If the plaintiff can’t demonstrate the ability to cover these costs, the class action will not be certified, leaving thousands of affected employees affected by the mandates with no legal options for recourse.

BCPSEF is actively fundraising to support the costs of the legal process. We depend on donations to fund our efforts and are very grateful and sincerely thank everyone who gives any amount they can.

Anyone can make a donation to BCPSEF to help support our Mission and any British Columbia resident may become a member.
