GoFundMe Fundraising Update

April 18, 2022

Dear BCPSEF Members,

This is a brief update to let you know we have added GoFundMe to our suite of fundraising options for the public and members to support our campaign to restore B.C. public servants’ employment rights, medical privacy and bodily autonomy!

You can find our GoFundMe at: www.gofundme.com/bcps-employees-for-freedom.

As announced on April 7, we also have a GiveSendGo fundraiser to support our campaign and are keeping Rally Up and PayPal as alternate donation methods.

When you visit the BCPSEF Donation page, you will now see two donation buttons, one for GoFundMe and another for GiveSendGo. PayPal continues to be a donation option at the bottom of the page.

We have a fundraising target of $150,000 across these platforms to support our legal costs for bringing forward a petition for judicial review of the B.C. government’s coercive Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Policy and Order which have stripped B.C. public servants of our employment rights and violated our medical privacy and bodily autonomy. The government is fighting hard to keep this authoritarian mandate in place and exert unconstitutional control over its employees. But the government’s actions must be tested in a court of law, and we are determined to see that happen!

We are also bringing action against the B.C. General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) for failing to represent its tens of thousands of members by offering no resistance to government’s proof of vaccination mandate. (If you are a BCGEU member and feel your rights have been violated and that your union has let you down, but haven’t already registered for this action, please visit our BCGEU legal challenge registration page.)

Friends, family and fellow BCPS Employees for Freedom, please take the following words to heart:

“Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights and keep them. Our strength is our unity of purpose. To that high concept there can be no end save victory.”

Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Thank you for your continued support!
